Ratiopharm Ulm clinched a 79-64 victory over Veolia Towers Hamburg on the final matchday of the easyCredit BBL regular season, securing second place as Munich also won against Ludwigsburg. Ulm took control with an 11:2 run in the second quarter to lead 46-37 at halftime and extended their lead to 20 points with an 11:0 run in the third quarter. Despite Hamburg’s pressure-free offensive play, their defense faltered, allowing Ulm to dominate in front of 3,400 fans in Wilhelmsburg.

Kur Kuath and Johnathan Stove led Ulm with 18 points each, with coach Ty Harrelson utilizing all 12 players, each contributing points. In the matchup of national team players, Ulm’s Karim Jallow (12.0 points, 58.3% FG this season) had a quiet game with 2 points and 4 rebounds, while Hamburg’s Jan Niklas Wimberg and Kenneth Ogbe combined for 8 points and 6 rebounds. Philipp Herkenhoff was the top German scorer with 9 points, but Ulm’s depth and balance proved decisive.

Ulm now heads into the playoff quarterfinals as the second seed, facing the winner of the PlayIn matchup between Berlin and Weißenfels on Tuesday, with confidence high. Veolia Towers Hamburg, meanwhile, ends their season and shifts focus to offseason planning for the next campaign.
