BasketNews reported on June 9, 2025, that Mike James, the EuroLeague star, is exploring options to leave AS Monaco despite his contract running through 2027, following an indefinite suspension and fine imposed just before the French League semifinals against ASVEL. The move stems from a disputed disciplinary action, with James removed from team activities, per the report, and the EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) stepping in, as L’Equipe linked the suspension to a police-involved restaurant incident, which James denies, claiming insufficient evidence.
