Lonnie Walker IV has officially signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2025-26 season, as reported by The Stein Line on July 24, 2025. The 26-year-old American guard, represented by agent George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group, returns to the EuroLeague with a contract featuring an NBA buyout clause valid until August 1st, following his stint with the Philadelphia 76ers and a breakout rookie season in Europe.
Standout Performances Across Leagues
Walker showcased his potential during his 2024-25 EuroLeague debut with Žalgiris Kaunas, averaging 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists with an 11.3 PIR. Highlights included a 24-point game against Panathinaikos and a season-high 26 points in Belgrade against Partizan. With the 76ers, he averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, though his $2.9 million option was declined, paving the way for his European return.
Tactical Fit for Maccabi’s Roster
Maccabi, aiming to strengthen their lineup, benefits from Walker’s scoring versatility and athleticism. His ability to excel in high-pressure games, as demonstrated in Lithuania, aligns with Maccabi’s fast-paced style, while the NBA buyout clause offers flexibility, enhancing their competitive edge in the upcoming EuroLeague season.
