SYNTAINICS MBC has finalized its center position with the signing of 25-year-old, 2.06m Croatian center Jure Planinic. Coming from Bulgarian champion Rilski Sportist Samokov, Planinic has agreed to a two-year contract with the German Cup winner and playoff quarter-finalist from the previous season, marking a significant roster update.

Planinic’s Proven Track Record

Planinic arrives with a strong resume, averaging 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in the Bulgarian National Basketball League and 13.4 points and 7.5 rebounds in eight FIBA Europe Cup games. His 2023-24 season with KK Pelister Bitola saw him as the second-leading scorer (18.1 points) and top rebounder (9.7) in the ABA League 2, complemented by his championship experience with Zadar in 2021.

Tactical Impact and Roster Changes

Head coach Marco Ramondino praises Planinic’s mobility and skill, noting his potential to enhance the team’s pick-and-roll plays. His arrival coincides with Martin Breunig’s departure after three seasons, 92 games, 982 points, and 498 rebounds, including the 2025 Cup win, leaving as one of the club’s historical top performers.
