Filip Petrusev is in advanced talks with Fenerbahçe Beko SK, sources tell Buzz Sport. The 25-year-old Serbian center, who delivered an exceptional EuroLeague season with Crvena zvezda, averaging 14.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 16.5 PIR, is poised to leave Serbia. He recently rejected a new three-year offer from Crvena zvezda, citing personal reasons, and is now seeking fresh challenges abroad, with Fenerbahçe emerging as the frontrunner.

Stellar EuroLeague Performance and Market Interest

Petrusev’s standout season with Crvena zvezda, widely praised by Serbian media for his consistency and impact, has heightened his market value. His decision to explore options outside Serbia has also drawn interest from Dubai BC, which remains a viable alternative should their negotiations with Dario Saric (story) collapse, adding complexity to his transfer saga.

Strategic Fit for Fenerbahçe’s Frontcourt Rebuild

Fenerbahçe is actively reshaping its frontcourt, with Nicolo Melli as the sole returning center from the current EuroLeague champions. The expected departures of Khem Birch and Sertac Sanli, alongside Jilson Bango’s contract until 2026 with an option, have prompted the club to target two new centers.

Petrusev’s primary role at center—where he excelled with Crvena zvezda—alongside his ability to play power forward, will complement recent signings Mikael Jantunen (PF) and the anticipated Chimezie Metu, who is sidelined until January/February due to injury.
