Hapoel Tel Aviv is set to make a major statement in the 2025-26 EuroLeague season, with former Maccabi Tel Aviv star Elijah Bryant on the verge of signing a three-year, €7.5 million contract—the highest in the club’s history, surpassing Patrick Beverley’s €2.2 million per season. The 30-year-old, 1.96m guard, who won the Israeli championship with Maccabi in 2019-20, will join Dimitris Itoudis’ squad as their first significant acquisition. Hapoel, the reigning EuroCup champions, are gearing up for their EuroLeague return, with owner Ofer Yanai actively involved, having attended the 2025 Final Four in Abu Dhabi.

Bryant is no stranger to Israeli basketball, having started his professional career with Hapoel Eilat in 2018 before moving to Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he later joined the Milwaukee Bucks for their 2021 NBA title run (per prior recap). Most recently with Anadolu Efes, Bryant averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.2 steals in the 2024-25 EuroLeague season, with a standout 25-point game against Maccabi, though he faced a Round 3 suspension and a €10,000 fine during the season. His experience, including a EuroLeague career-high of 21 points with Maccabi in 2020, makes him a key addition for Hapoel as they aim to compete at the elite level.
