Crvena Zvezda is on the verge of securing their first major signing of the summer, with sources confirming to BuzzSport that the Serbian club is close to finalizing a deal with Semi Ojeleye before the end of May 2025. The 31-year-old forward, currently with Valencia, is nearing a 1+1 contract worth $1.5 million per season, with Crvena Zvezda prepared to pay a €400,000 buyout clause to secure his release. Ojeleye, who has significant NBA experience and two EuroLeague seasons under his belt, is set to join the red-and-whites at Mali Kalemegdan, marking a significant move as the club promises a busy transfer window.
Ojeleye, who moved to Europe in 2022 after four NBA seasons with the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, initially signed with Virtus Bologna before joining Valencia in 2023, where he stayed despite their drop to the EuroCup last season. In the 2024-25 EuroCup season, the 1.98m forward averaged 11.4 points and 3.5 rebounds, while posting 11.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in the ACB regular season. With Valencia’s future uncertain—rumors suggest a potential move to the FIBA Champions League—Ojeleye, a proven EuroLeague talent and 2022 Italian Supercup MVP, appears ready for a new challenge, making Crvena Zvezda an ideal destination.
