Bamberg Baskets closed out their easyCredit BBL season with an 86-73 win over RASTA Vechta, despite both teams being out of playoff contention. Vechta led 20-17 after the first quarter, but Bamberg took control in the second (19-14) and extended their lead in the third (24-21) and fourth quarters (26-18). The game was briefly overshadowed by an incident: Bamberg’s Ronaldo Segu was ejected with a disqualifying foul after a clash with Vechta’s coach Martin Schiller, though it didn’t impact the final result.

Bamberg’s Moritz Krimmer (16 points, 5 rebounds) and Filip Stanic (11 points, 15 rebounds) led the German contingent, with Stanic continuing his strong form (7.2 points, 5.4 rebounds in 2022/23 with Würzburg). Bamberg played without Ibi Watson (finger injury), while Vechta missed Yasiin Joseph and Ryan Schwieger, limiting their rotation. The game highlighted Bamberg’s home strength, which they aim to build on next season, while Vechta, finishing 12th (16-16 in a four-way tie), can reflect on a competitive year despite the loss.

Both teams now head into the offseason, focusing on preparations for the 2025/2026 season. Bamberg will assess Watson’s absence and nurture talents like Stanic and Krimmer, while Vechta awaits the return of their injured players to push for the playoffs next year.
