Aris B.C. Thessaloniki: Revival In The Works

As some Greek sites report (ErtSports/Sport24/Novasports), a foreign fund is considering taking over the Greek club. There are talks between the team’s management and the investors, and as the club’s officials announced, the investing group wants to officially bid for club shares, and it has been informed about the team’s financial status.

Aris B.C. Thessaloniki: A Greek Sleeping Giant

Aris BC is one of the most historic and successful Greek basketball teams, although in the last 20 years, the club’s fame has been declining. Aris BC has won 10 Greek Championships, 8 Greek Cups, a Greek SuperCup , 3 European Cups and has several memorable European journeys. Some legendary Greek players have worn the black and yellow jersey, like Panagiotis Giannakis and Hall of Famer Nikos Galis, from whom the team’s stadium is named.

The investment plan

The investors have promised to put money into the club, increase the club’s budget and even build a new stadium for the team. It is a very interesting project because if the investing plan succeeds, Aris BC will return to fight for the domestic cups alongside Panathinaikos and Olympiakos and would be a contender in European tournaments like EuroCup.

So the question is: Will The Greek “sleeping giant” awake?
