Andrej Kostić: Crvena Zvezda’s Rising Star Attracts Kansas State’s Attention

Belgrade’s basketball prodigy, Andrej Kostić, is making waves far beyond the courts of Mali Kalemegdan. The 18-year-old Crvena Zvezda talent has caught the eye of several American colleges, with Kansas State University emerging as the frontrunner to secure his signature according to MeridianSport. For a young player with Kostić’s potential, the call of the NCAA is hard to ignore, making a move to the U.S. a very real possibility.

Kostić burst onto the senior scene last season, debuting for Zvezda at the Radivoj Korać Cup, where he dropped seven points against Čačak 94, instantly earning fans’ admiration. He went on to gain valuable minutes in the ABA League and Serbia’s domestic championship, though a EuroLeague appearance remained elusive. On the international stage, Kostić helped Serbia clinch silver at the FIBA U18 European Championship last summer and is set to lead the national team in their quest for world dominance this year.

Kansas State’s interest underscores Kostić’s immense potential. The Wildcats see him as a key piece for their program, offering a blend of elite coaching, top-tier facilities, and a pathway to the NBA. For Kostić, the decision looms large: stay with Zvezda to chase European glory or take the leap to the NCAA, where academic and athletic opportunities await.
