Nikola Mirotic Signs with AS Monaco: EuroLeague Star Bolsters the Princes

AS Monaco has made a major signing: EuroLeague star Nikola Mirotic has joined the AS Monaco, as announced by Théo Quintard on Thursday. The 34-year-old forward, named the 2021-22 EuroLeague MVP, brings an impressive 17.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game (2023-24 season with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan). Following their Final Four qualification against FC Barcelona (85:84), Monaco aims to contend for the title in Abu Dhabi (May 23-25).

Mirotic, a former player for Barcelona and Real Madrid, opted for Monaco after a reported three-year offer, having terminated his contract with Milan. The move highlights Monaco’s ambitions in a shifting EuroLeague landscape, where no Spanish teams will feature in the Final Four for the first time since 2004. With players like Daniel Theis and now Mirotic, Monaco emerges as a serious title contender against Olympiakos in the semifinals.
